Ministries

Parish Council

 The Parish Council is tasked to organize, coordinate, evaluate, unify and support activities within the Parish, ensuring the extension of Christ's mission. The Council will present all members of the Parish with the opportunity to participate in the apostolic effort of bringing unity to the mission of the church through encouraging, guiding and directing parish life.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Music Ministry

Join together in song, under the talented direction of our choir director. Rehearsals on select Monday evenings, 7:00pm in the Church. PLease see calendar for schedule. Sing at 8:30am Sunday Mass here at St. Thomas or at St. Mary's in Cambridge Sunday at 10:30am, as your schedule allows. Worship Committee

The Worship Committee is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of St. Thomas Parish.

Women’s Group

All women are welcome! Gatherings are on Thursday mornings at 9:00AM in the Rectory. For more information, please call the Rectory office or email office@stthomasvt.com.

Eucharistic Adoration

First and Third Tuesdays from 7:00PM to 8:00PM after the 6:30 Mass. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored as we pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.


 

Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 4 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy. New Altar server and refresher training is held yearly.

 

Eucharistic Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers on a rotation.

Fund Raising Committee

Volunteers who coordinate fund raising activities throughout the year.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

Lector

Reader who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Usher

Volunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection.

Religious Education

Parents and church members volunteer to bring the Word of God to our young people.  Classes are held weekly durng the school year.
